14 March 2013 479 views No Comment

MTS has issued public notice for its customers, asking them to use their balance within 30 days and then port to any other network of their choice via MNP (Mobile Number Portability). They can consume other services too that they have subscribed. Their mobile numbers would remain the same and they can switch to other networks.

“SSTL was unable to win spectrum in Mumbai. Consequently, SSTL is constrained to withdraw its services from Mumbai, Maharashtra and UP East circles. SSTL has made a request to DOT to allow continue operation for 30 days from 11th March, 2013 for enabling customers to port out.”-MTS. MTS India is the CDMA mobile and EVDO Data service brand of Sistem Shyam Teleservices.

It has informed the customers in the above mentioned areas about the withdrawal of services. Media reports, SMS, websites and call centers have played their role in informing the customers in time
