Nokia and New India Insurance tie the knot for handset Insurance feature

Nokia India has joined hands with New India Assurance (NIA) to provide insurance to Nokia handset users. This reasonably priced and wide-ranging handset insurance plan maintains the security of their handsets against any kind of loss, damage, theft, burglary to the phone.  It also covers the damage that is beyond the consumer’s standard warranty. The plan includes some other services as well. These are:

  1. 1.     Free pick and drop services in case of damage or loss:

In six cities i.e. Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad Chennai and Kolkata, free pick and drop of the handset will be provided. The service will be brought into effect within 24 hours of a complaint registered. (The lost phone has to be reported to the police and lost SIM be reported to the network company).

  1. 2.     Free mending of the loss:

With Cashless service the affected mobile phone has to be submitted in the nearest authorized Nokia retail Centre.  The damage will be repaired free of cost if it is within the purview of insurance. It will then be mended and delivered back at your doorstep.

  1. 3.     Standby devices:

In the meantime, you will be provided with substitute handset, chargers or any other concerned device.

This offer strictly applies to the handsets bought from Nokia Branded Retail Stores. The insurance scheme applies throughout the company but initially in Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Cochin.

You just have to provide a few details. The insurance certificate, handout and payment receipt are provided there and then at the store. The insurance starts from Rs. 50. It costs 1.25% of the price of the handset. The plan will work from 14th March, 2013.
