‘M-Pesa’ – Mobile Money Transfer and Payment service by the collaboration of Vodafone and ICICI Bank

Vodafone and ICIC Bank have together launched ‘M-Pesa’ Mobile Money Transfer and Payment service. The offer is available in eastern region of India. Vodafone had initiated its M-Pesa service on 8th November 2012. M-Pesa is launched as yet only in the eastern parts of the country i.e. Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. GSMA has put forward that reduction in Spectrum is imperative for prosperous business in India. Spectrum reserve prices have to be lowered in the upcoming spectrum auction.

TRAI extends the date for comments about lowering tariff rates

TRAI has intended to consider more reviews about tariff lowering. TRAI has extended the date to 5th April for giving opinions about tariff rates while on roaming. Written comments are to be submitted by 18th March.

“Keeping in view the request of stakeholders for extension of time for sending their comments, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of written comments up to April 5, 2013 and for counter-comments up to April 12, 2013,” TRAI said in a statement.
